Abduction: Houseboy Kidnaps His Employer’s 6-year-old Son In Edo

The Edo State Police Command yesterday paraded one Andy Ibojie, 26, for allegedly conspiring with a houseboy to kidnap his madam's six-year-old son in Okomu town Ovia South West Local Government area of the state.


Also paraded were dismissed police officers, Adedeji Adeleke, 33, Oniyo Musa, 35, Abena John, 33, and Henry Shobowale, 32, paraded for the murder of one Benson Obode on the 21st of May, 2015.


Narrating how the little old boy was kidnapped in Okomu and spent five days in their den, Ibojie alleged that the house boy-led five-man squad demanded a ransom of N230, 000.


He said, "We kidnapped the boy at Okomu. The boy who works with his mother sent us to kidnap him. I don't actually know the reason why he said we should kidnap him but he led the squad and now he is nowhere to be found.


"The boy was working with the boy's mother as houseboy and he was the one that attached us to himself but finally when the case ran against us, they escaped. We kidnapped the boy at Okomu and he spent five days.


"We collected N230, 000 from the family and the police recovered the money from me. We were five but only three of us are here. The two of them who were in charge of the operation have escaped leaving the three of us here."


Recovered from the suspects are two pump action gun, live cartridges, two locally made pistols, black axe regalia, 21 Ak47 rifles, three TO6 Rifles, 4 cut-to-size guns, 34 IEDs, 131 rounds of 7.62mm, four live cartridges, 47 AK47 rifle magazines, four million, four hundred and fifty-two thousand, five hundred naira only (N4, 452, 500, 00).
Also, five vehicles were recovered while 18 suspects were charged to court.


Meanwhile, the commissioner of police, Chris Ezike, has warned against the use of fireworks during the Christmas and New Year celebration in the state, saying it aids criminality
