Unpaid Salaries: Benue civil servant who now hawks groundnuts to survive, shares story

 46 years old Godwin Oga Benue state Environmental Sanitation Agency Staff  had to recourse to  groundnuts hawking on the streets of Makurdi in Benue state to survive, shared with  with Benue.com.ng his life experience.

The father of three revealed that he started the business last month after he was unable to provide food for his family following governments in ability to pay salaries for several months.


According to Oga , he said he has spent a total of 15 years in service with the government and started the groundnut business in June 2017 in other not to allow his children starve out of hunger.

Adding that he prefers been laughed at because of the groundnut business instead of indulging in criminal activities.

Information reveals that state government workers have not been paid salaries for the past 5 months while local government workers and teachers are been owned 8 months by the Benue state government.
